Self-Assessment

The attached artifact is a final project for the course, which I was proud of creating. It brings together several documents created through the course to end up with a final product that could be used in a classroom to teach a topic.

This ties into NETS standard 2-a, 2-d, 3-a, 3-c. The goal of the project was to teach a student how to use a screen-capture program on their computer. This is a direct example of develping digital age learning experiences and assessments. It's also an expression of my knowledge of a digital process.

If this were to be developed again I would incorporate a few of the more recent technology tools I know have experience with.

This was my first experience in creating a mini-course with all the components to make it a valid Instructional Technology piece. Developing the analysis, objectives, and assessment were great learning experiences as well.

Content Explanation

The PDF linked below is a package of files that can be used by an instructor to learn about the Jing screen-capture program, then teach that knowledge to students. It includes assessments, objectives, checklists, instructions, and a course manual. It was created as a final project for the TE 810 course, and was later used for individual training in my department for Jing users. It was a combination of knowledge from other courses in my Master's degree.

Process Reflection

I created this document because there was a need to teach people in my department how to best use a screen-capture program for their daily work. One of the obstacles I faced in development was determining what program would be the focus of the instruction, as some people already used different software for similar purposes. The final artifact was developed as a direct application of the techniques that were taught in the TE 810 course.
